Chickens in the Coop

Tonight I am a nervous mama. Our oldest girls, the Buff Orpingtons will be spending their first night in the coop tonight. They spent the day outside. It was a beautiful day. Nice and warm, blue skies and sunshine. The girls are just about 6 weeks old now and the temperatures are right for them to spend their first night in their coop. They are pretty big and the brooder seems so small. They are so much happier in their coop. The doors and windows are locked up tight with the girls snuggled together in a nesting box. I am still nervous.

  3. Good luck to the girls...hope they continue to grow and fare well. My neighbors chicks are still in the warmth of the house under a warming light.
